Yes, voice chat was already available since a little while in Battlefield 2042. That said, since everyone is on Discord, it is now super simple to join any existing/created voice chat when players from different platform wants to play Battlefield together.

Going from public games to custom portal servers, voice chat is overall much better when playing Battlefield!

It also remove some of the work that game developers may have to put on voice chat features - by having only proximity chat to implement, for example - so they can focus on other aspect of the creation of the game.

With time, the popularity of this implementation may impact the way games are made in the future. Amazing work Xbox & Discord!
